About The Position

The Transportation Procurement Supervisor works cross-functionally with global transportation service providers (OTR, rail, intermodal, air, ocean, LTL, dray, etc.) ensuring Tyson Global Transportation Strategy is executed with consistency and accuracy across all modes of transportation. This role collaborates on strategic plans necessary to provide Tyson competitive advantage, promotes and supports technological and automation initiatives designed to improve product movement through the Global network, and develops exceptional working relationships with internal and external business partners (Plants/Shipping locations, drayage providers, cross-dock and cold storage, procurement, finance, operations, IT, maintenance, etc.). The position is responsible for delivering the financial plan, ensuring all team leaders have clearly defined responsibilities and understand their specific roles to achieve service and financial goals. It also ensures risk management and contingency planning related to trends and threats impacting Global transportation and Global Bus, and leads and develops the team to support Tyson Global transportation and total company initiatives. The role supports continuous improvement and change management, and models the Tyson values and culture by building strong relationships and trust with internal and external team members and business partners, creating discipline and focus around developing talent, building a talent pipeline, and fostering an environment that empowers team members.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Logistics, Transportation, Procurement or Supply Chain/or 3 plus yrs. of Logistics, Procurement, Transportation or Supply Chain experience.
  • 3 plus years of experience with transportation procurement or operations.
  • Versed in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and various supply chain operating systems.
  • Mid to Senior level management written, presentation and verbal skills.
