About The Position

Enovate is seeking a Senior Transportation Planner to lead and deliver complex, multimodal transportation planning projects across the NY/NJ region. This role requires a practitioner with strong technical abilities, familiarity of local codes/standards, and the ability to manage projects. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Planning, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or related field
  • 4+ years of experience
  • Strong knowledge of regional transportation systems in NY/NJ
  • Experience with traffic analysis tools (e.g., Synchro, HCS, VISSIM, TransCAD, Cube, or similar)
  • Proficiency in GIS (ArcGIS or equivalent) and data analysis
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Uncompromising Integrity
  • Excellent teamwork, communication and people skills a must.
  • Ability to sit, stand, kneel, bend, twist, and lift up to 25lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local transportation regulations and funding frameworks
  • Demonstrated project management experience
  • CEQR/SEQRA/NEPA familiarity preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead transportation planning studies, including corridor studies, traffic impact analyses, and long-range mobility plans
  • Develop multimodal solutions integrating roadway, transit, pedestrian, and bicycle systems
  • Conduct traffic safety analyses, including crash data evaluation, network screening, and identification of high-injury networks
  • Manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and client relationships
  • Coordinate with public agencies (e.g., PANYNJ, NYCDOT, NYCDDC, NYSDOT, MTA, NJDOT, NJTA), municipalities, and stakeholders
  • Conduct and oversee data analysis (traffic counts, data reduction, HCS/Synchro analysis, GIS analysis)
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and environmental documentation (CEQR/SEQRA/NEPA familiarity preferred)
  • Support public outreach efforts, including community meetings and stakeholder workshops
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to internal quality control processes
