Senior Transportation Analyst
About The Position
The Sr. Transportation Analyst is someone possessing strong leadership and communication skills. They will be responsible for data collection, analysis, reporting, and recommending solutions relating to inbound transportation strategies. The successful candidate will report to the Senior Manager of Inbound Transportation but will also work closely with Sprouts vendor partners, the Sprouts Transportation team, the Sprouts Produce Replenishment team and Produce Category Managers. This position requires attention to detail, an ability to identify and determine causes of anomalies, and very strong computer skills. Successful candidates will also be self-motivated, reliable, and skilled at navigating relationships between people at various levels in an organization.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an analyst in transportation or supply chain
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Transportation, Supply Chain, or Finance is preferred
- Inbound transportation experience is preferred.
- Produce experience is helpful but not required
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to manage competing priorities across multiple assignments and deadlines
- Excellent people skills and an ability to build strong professional relationships
- Positive and professional demeanor
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Expert proficiency level with Microsoft Office applications, primarily Excel and PowerPoint
Responsibilities
- Perform a leading role on an inbound freight strategy team, acting as a conduit between category managers, transportation team members, and produce replenishment team members
- Develop and maintain databases and other tools used to analyze different freight scenarios
- Collect and aggregate logistics and pricing data from multiple internal and external sources
- Recommend optimal inbound logistics strategies based on analytical work
- Build strong relationships with Sprouts team members and key vendor partners
- Create reports and other business documents in a digestible and actionable format
- Support business partners with ad hoc analysis and other projects as needed
- Provide support for the planning and rollout of key strategic initiatives within Supply Chain
- Maintain/update internal documentation for training, reporting, and reference.
- Use and understanding of Sprouts supply chain systems, including MercuryGate TMS
- Other duties as assigned
