This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, with three days a week in the office and two days remote. The position involves applying and expanding knowledge of transmission line engineering, including conductors, hardware, insulation, structures, foundations, and electrical principles. Responsibilities include designing transmission lines in the 69kV to 500kV range, cost analyses, development of design criteria, routing and siting, conductor selection studies, shielding, grounding, and induction studies. The role also involves working with vendors and clients to specify components, directing a small project team, mentoring less experienced staff, interacting with a diverse client base and other project teams, occasional travel for site visits and client meetings, and developing proposals and cost estimates for new work. Additionally, the role emphasizes leading others in using modern tools like automation and AI to improve workflows, reduce rework, and deliver cost-effective designs, including overseeing engineers who program or script for automation and reviewing automated outputs.
