About The Position

HWC Engineering is seeking a qualified, self-motivated, professional Senior Traffic Engineer to work in our Indianapolis Office. This role involves using senior-level technical expertise for traffic analysis, corridor studies, and traffic modeling. The position is responsible for planning, work distribution, leadership, and adherence to schedule and budget on complex traffic engineering projects. Additionally, the role assists in marketing efforts, including proposal generation, and develops scopes of work. The Senior Traffic Engineer will oversee the accuracy of the project team's work within the technical discipline, provide technical guidance and mentoring, and coordinate technical aspects with clients and partners. The role also involves assisting with the coordination and planning of schedules and work distribution for other disciplines on multi-discipline projects and performing other duties as assigned by the Traffic Group Manager.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of transportation and/or traffic engineering experience
  • BS in Civil Engineering or related field of study
  • EIT required

Nice To Haves

  • PE license expected
  • Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation preferred

Responsibilities

  • Uses senior-level technical expertise to consider a broad range of engineering solutions relating to traffic analysis, corridor studies and complex/non-complex traffic modeling.
  • Responsible for discipline-specific planning, work distribution, leadership and adherence to the schedule, and budget on complex or traffic engineering projects.
  • Assists in marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation.
  • Develops scope of work and level of effort and manages adherence to scope and budget during project delivery process.
  • Oversees completeness and accuracy of project team’s work within the technical discipline.
  • Provides technical guidance and mentoring to team members to achieve overall project objectives on complex or unusual engineering projects.
  • Coordinates technical aspects of the project with client and teaming partners.
  • Assists with coordination and planning of schedules, hours, and distribution of work for other disciplines on multi-discipline projects on complex or unusual engineering projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Traffic Group Manager.
