About The Position

The Sr. Traffic Coordinator is a functional role responsible for executing daily actions to ensure all outbound shipments are compliant, correctly routed, and billed. This position may also be required to learn, perform, and/or be certified to assist within other areas of Distribution/Warehouse Operations, including distribution, Material & Inventory, or other assigned tasks, to assure team continuity. The role involves collaborative work with key business partners such as Purchasing, Planning, Distribution, Operations, Customer Service, and external carriers to ensure timely shipments, accurate routing, billing, and complete ERP transactions. The coordinator also works closely with these partners to identify best practices and address challenges promptly and appropriately.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a warehouse environment in addition to a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience in related disciplines (Logistics, Supply Chain, etc.)
  • Maintain knowledge and applicable certifications in dangerous goods distribution
  • Knowledge or ability to gain knowledge to execute international shipping including creation of commercial invoices and shipper’s letter of intent (SLI)
  • General proficiencies in Microsoft Office and ERP
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance

Responsibilities

  • Enter freight expenses in MRP to allow for billing of sales orders
  • Complete ERP goods receipts as required to assure ERP accuracy and billing of sales orders
  • Complete freight bill coding as required
  • Manage exception reporting for multiple carriers to assure correct Progressive Rotating Order (PRO) / Bill of Lading (BOL) and shipment information
  • Generate Maintain and provide DG certifications as required
  • Schedule Less than Truckload (LTL), Truckload (TL), and Container shipments with appropriate lane carriers
  • Work with Customer Service and Carriers for order / Bill of Lading (BOL) corrections
  • Assist with collection of data and quoting as needed for domestic and international sales
  • Review and manage shipment reporting to assure daily, weekly, and monthly targets are hit and tasks required are completed
  • Generate, maintain, and provide certification for Dangerous Goods, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMSCA), and DOT, assuring all shipments comply with all regulations including paperwork, labelling, placarding, and other
  • Assist the Supervisor in tariff, Schedule B and other regulated control management
  • Assist in troubleshooting issues as they arise
  • Assist leadership in the development of improvement strategies and execution plans
  • Follow all provided control procedures and policies to complete tasks, to include the maintenance of and promotion of a safe work environment
