About The Position

What You’ll Be Doing: Global Trade Compliance Leadership Serve as the subject matter expert on all import and export laws, regulations, and compliance requirements across global regions. Establish and maintain robust processes and procedures to ensure Arrow’s adherence to trade and customs regulations, including export controls, sanctions, and import regulations. Partner with Legal and operational stakeholders to identify, assess, and mitigate trade compliance risks, ensuring consistent alignment with internal policies and government mandates. Lead and oversee regional trade operations teams conducting trade risk assessments and compliance audits. Strategic and Operational Excellence Contribute to and help shape the global strategy for trade management and compliance as part of the department’s leadership team. Develop and implement global trade structures, resource plans, and procedures to meet government requirements and business objectives. Drive performance and consistency across regional geographies, ensuring all import and export processes are robust, standardized, and auditable. Lead the development of trade and tariff optimization strategies—such as foreign-trade-zone (FTZ) programs, drawback initiatives, and tariff classification improvements—to enhance efficiency and cost savings. Systems, Analytics, and Process Optimization Initiate, test, and implement system controls and automation for trade operations, promoting accuracy, quality, efficiency, and risk reduction. Oversee integration and compliance alignment of systems such as ERP, Global Trade Management (GTM), and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). Partner with IT on the design, testing, and deployment of trade management software solutions and compliance applications. Facilitate ongoing awareness, training, and performance management for automated trade compliance processes. Generate and analyze trade data to identify opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and enhanced compliance accuracy. Cross-Functional and Regional Collaboration Collaborate closely with Legal, Supply Chain, and Business leadership to develop risk mitigation strategies and compliance best practices. Provide executive-level insights and recommendations to regional business leaders to ensure trade operations align with strategic priorities. Lead and develop regional teams to ensure high performance, accountability, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant global trade operations or compliance experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 8 years with an advanced degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven ability to lead teams of trade professionals across geographies.
  • Demonstrated success in influencing and driving organizational direction across complex, matrixed environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of global trade regulations, import/export procedures, and customs compliance (including EAR, ITAR, and OFAC regulations).
  • Experience managing and optimizing ERP, GTM, and transportation/logistics systems for compliance integration.
  • Proficiency with data analysis to drive performance insights and compliance reporting.
  • Strong analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities across all organizational levels.
  • Adept at managing large-scale process improvements using tools such as Lean or Six Sigma.
  • Ability to balance compliance with operational efficiency and cost optimization.
