About The Position

As a Senior Trade Compliance Specialist within Customs and Trade, you will be supporting customs compliance and trade operations through accurate execution of customs transactions, research, and reporting. This role ensures timely and compliant import activities, contributes to audit readiness in support of our compliance program, keeping it worthy of our most admired brand status. Building on our solid foundation of ethical standards, you will ensure that our international trade is compliant in both the letter and spirit of the regulations that govern our business. Your work will support process improvements that enhance our data accuracy and operational efficiency and make recommendations to improve their efficacy, design, and implementation. Your work will inform our leaders as they manage complex trade decisions in a very dynamic, fast-paced business environment. As a key member of our trade team, you will support transactional operations such as; classification, broker management and exceptions, valuation, and entry declarations. Maintenance of electronic data, research regulations, duty analysis, and special projects are among the critical tasks performed in this role. Your contributions will make a difference.

Requirements

  • 1-4 years customs trade compliance industry, transportation, logistics, customs broker or customs agency experience
  • 2 years of experience in data analysis and reporting
  • Working knowledge of U.S. import regulations and customs procedures
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • US Customs Broker License or equivalent in another country, future license candidate, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on regulations, risks, best practices, etc.
  • Perform duty impact assessments and support mitigation strategies.
  • Assist with the development of process improvements.
  • Maintain data and record keeping systems, reporting and accuracy.
  • Support documentation management tasks such as versioning, revisions, storage.
  • Assist with audit support such as invoice reviews, entry declaration audits, file reviews.
  • Support daily operational exception management such as broker requests, missing documents, data, etc., to ensure the smooth flow of customs clearances.
  • Maintain KPI’s, metrics, dashboards and reporting.
  • Assist with the review and documenting of business processes using standard process mapping and flow-charting tools.
