Senior Trade Compliance Manager

About The Position

We are seeking a high-impact Senior Trade Compliance Manager to lead our import/export operations. This isn't just a "policy" role; you will be the technical architect of our compliance framework. You will manage everything from HTS reengineering and country of origin (COO) determination to navigating the complexities of ITAR and EAR for our marine electronics products.

Requirements

8+ years in Trade Compliance, specifically within Hardware, Marine Electronics, or Robotics.
Deep understanding of ITAR and EAR regulations.
Comfortable interpreting the Commerce Control List (CCL) and the U.S. Munitions List (USML).
Proven ability to analyze hardware components to optimize HTS classifications and minimize duty exposure.
Proficiency in Notion, Slack, and modern Project Management tools is non-negotiable.
Understanding of how things are built and ability to translate a Bill of Materials (BOM) into a compliance strategy.

Nice To Haves

Holding a valid U.S. Customs Broker License (LCB) is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Act as the internal expert for HTS and ECCN classifications, assessing current systems and proactively determining how engineering changes or new hardware iterations impact our classification standing.
Hands-on management of export licenses through SNAP-R (Department of Commerce/BIS) and D-Trade (Department of State/DDTC).
Work as a strategic partner to the Go-To-Market team, identifying barriers to entry, duty-saving opportunities, and regulatory requirements for new international territories.
Evaluate manufacturing processes to ensure accurate Country of Origin determinations and navigate "Substantial Transformation" complexities.
Create and audit shipping documentation to ensure seamless transit of electronic components and finished goods.
