About The Position

Raytheon Technologies seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to provide assembly tooling solutions to facilitate delivery of systems for the nation’s defense, in a cooperative and collaborative work environment. Tool Engineering is a career field that specializes in designing custom mechanical solutions to support manufacturing, assembly, inspection, and test throughout the product lifecycle. Tooling Engineers are the subject matter experts who provide innovative fixturing, gages, automation and machine design solutions. The use of these items provides a consistent, safe, ergonomic means to assemble, lift, and transport production hardware. Tool Engineers use computer aided design technology to generate 3-dimensional models and technical drawing packages. Tool Engineers are responsible for all aspects of designing, documentation, procuring and integrating assembly Tooling into a highly complex manufacturing environment. Tool Engineers oversee projects from development to implementation and strive to incorporate safe, ergonomic, error-proofed, and innovative solutions into the factory. The qualified candidate will provide mechanical engineering support for the McKinney Consolidated Manufacturing Center. The supported products are electro-mechanical/electro-optical systems with primary focus on the design of Special Tooling to facilitate assembly and secondarily to support Test Equipment for the systems. They will be responsible for new tooling product designs and implementation into the factory as well as improvements to existing tools. The candidate will utilize their mechanical engineering expertise during design, development, and integration to create solutions that meet tool product requirements and incorporate robust design principles. The candidate will provide leadership on designing, procuring and implementing special tools while collaborating with the factory support team to provide a complete build solution to the factory customer. This is an onsite, part-time role in McKinney, TX.
