About The Position

Leidos' Payroll Services team is seeking a customer service-oriented Time and Labor Specialist to support timesheet processing, audit requests, status reporting, special projects, and other duties as assigned. Building on core timesheet administration, this role takes on added responsibility for pay-data analysis, error research and resolution, and process improvement. The ideal candidate is an organized, analytical self-starter who communicates clearly, takes ownership of their work, knows when to escalate, and continually looks for ways to strengthen processes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma combined with 4 to 5 years of timesheet administration or time-charging experience.
  • Prior experience in a government contracting environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of time-charging policies and procedures to ensure adherence to Company policy and federal labor laws.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong client-facing and interpersonal skills.
  • Availability to work overtime as special projects require.
  • Working knowledge of standard business tools, including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor timesheets to ensure they are submitted and approved in a timely manner.
  • Assist employees with timesheet questions and issues related to the recording of hours, which may be confidential in nature.
  • Perform timecard corrections of varying complexity.
  • Complete a high volume of timesheet adjustments.
  • Maintain and update approver groups in the system.
  • Assist employees with creating paper correcting timesheets when needed.
  • Track and report timesheet discrepancies, and recommend actions to resolve them.
  • Review and analyze pay data and resolve pay-related questions.
  • Research and analyze errors, trace them to their root cause, and drive them to resolution.
  • Track non-immediate terminating employees' final timesheets via a log, coordinating with HR and approvers as needed.
  • Provide appropriate timesheets to Human Resources and Legal when necessary.
  • Walk customers through the problem-solving process.
  • Track and route problems to the correct resources, recognizing when an issue should be escalated to the next level of support.
  • Follow up with customers, provide feedback, and see issues through to resolution.
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks and follow them through to completion.
  • Maintain process documentation and take the initiative to recommend updates to procedures, including those that fall outside direct areas of responsibility.
  • Ensure proper recording, documentation, and closure of cases.
  • Support special projects and other duties as assigned.
