About The Position

As a Senior Thermal Performance Engineer, you will have the opportunity to perform thermal modeling of conventional generation power plants using Thermoflow software. You will participate as a mechanical lead in feasibility studies and development support for new power projects including the areas of biofuels and hydrogen. You will support power generation project owners and developers for new thermal energy projects, and perform owner’s engineer design reviews of mechanical systems for power projects. You will prepare and review other engineering deliverables such as reports, studies, and calculations. You will evaluate new power and infrastructure projects to support financing, and handle procurement of major power plant equipment, upgrades, maintenance, and service agreements. You will interface with clients to understand requests and confirm successful project execution, monitor project schedules and budgets, and support proposals for new business development opportunities. You will execute performance testing of new & existing thermal plants, participate in condition assessments of existing power plants, and provide technical support for carbon capture studies.

Requirements

Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing or equivalent experience in Engineering work.
Minimum of 11 years related work experience.
All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
Holds an active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements for BV projects in applicable countries, and supports where necessary.

Nice To Haves

12 or more years of experience in the electric power industry, specifically experience in thermal power generation.
Experience in owner’s engineering design reviews of electric power projects.
Experience with performance testing of thermal energy plants.
Detailed understanding of power station operation and maintenance.
Excellent technical communication and writing skills.
Familiarity with design codes and standards.
Thermal modeling of conventional generation power plants using Thermoflow or similar software (e.g., GateCycle, EBSILON, IPSEpro).
