About The Position

This role is for a Senior Safety Analysis Engineer within the Advanced T/H Analysis and Integration team and the greater APX organization. The engineer will perform modeling and safety analysis activities for advanced reactor designs. The position is hybrid, requiring two days per week onsite at the global headquarters in Cranberry Township, PA. The engineer will report to the Safety Analysis Manager.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or recognized equivalent required with a minimum 3.0 GPA
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Experience in thermal hydraulics and applied fluid transport
  • Must have analytical skills, critical thinking, attention to detail and excellent communication skills including technical writing
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to communicate a variety of issues: project status, issue resolution, engineering recommendations.
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects and tasks within an innovative development program

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for assigned work performed in the safety analysis of advanced reactor safety analysis consistent with regulatory requirements.
  • Perform modeling and analysis of thermal hydraulic systems including but not limited to CFD and other standard and non-standard T/H codes.
  • Develop technical documentation and presentations related to these calculations and analyses.
  • Work as a cross functional team (i.e. system and component design, testing, manufacturing, or materials) to solve challenging technical problems to progress the advanced reactor designs.
  • Work and communicate with technical leads and project managers in coordination of activities associated with assigned work scope.
