The Senior Institutional Mental Health Account Specialist (MHAS) is a crucial field-based role within BMS's unique customer model, aimed at driving the adoption of new and existing medicines through impactful engagement with Healthcare Providers (HCPs). This specific role supports the US commercialization of COBENFY, a novel treatment for schizophrenia targeting muscarinic receptor circuits. The MHAS team engages with providers and care team members at Community Mental Health Centers, Certified Community Behavior Health Centers, and Hospitals, acting as a critical member of the hospital launch team. The primary objective is to drive demand for BMS medicines within their portfolio for appropriate patients by fostering deeper scientific dialogue, ensuring on-label discussions, and leveraging effective partnership avenues. This role involves building and maintaining strong professional credibility with thought leaders, physicians, hospital staff, and other stakeholders across the patient care continuum. Collaboration with other BMS functions, such as Therapeutic Area Specialists (TAS) and Key Account Managers (KAM), is essential to deliver a superior Customer Experience (Cx) and meet HCP needs scientifically and in a timely manner. The role prioritizes the safe and appropriate use of BMS products while focusing on business results and exemplifying BMS values. The Institutional MHAS is expected to spend 100% of their time in the field engaging with customers in Community Mental Health Centers, Certified Community Behavioral Health Centers, and Hospitals.

Requirements

• Advanced scientific degree and/or preferred 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience as healthcare sales / MSL / HCP / nurse.
• Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately and convincingly to help physicians best serve their patients.
• Demonstrated experience building and maintaining strong credibility with key community- and hospital-based customers, office staff, case managers, and others in the customer influence network via a customer-centric mindset and desire to create positive and differentiated Customer Experience (Cx).
• Experience in Psychiatry is preferred.
• Experience in Community Mental Health Centers, Certified Community Behavior Health Centers, and Hospitals preferred.
• Demonstrated understanding of acute care, hospital, and healthcare systems and institutional treatment dynamics.
• Demonstrated experience engaging with P&T committee members and knowledge of formulary, reimbursement processes.

Responsibilities

• Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory or region to meet or exceed assigned sales targets in a compliant manner.
• Creates demand for BMS medicines by articulating in a balanced manner the clinical and scientific rationale for use of products in appropriate patients.
• Engages with and continuously maintains/grows a high level of scientific expertise in all assigned products and therapeutic areas.
