At Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS), our purpose is to transform patients’ lives through science. We discover, develop, and deliver innovative medicines that help patients prevail over serious diseases in areas like oncology, hematology, immunology, and cardiovascular disease. This role is a critical part of our unique customer model, aiming to deliver the most impactful engagement with Health Care Providers (HCPs) and drive the adoption of new and existing medicines for appropriate patients. The primary responsibility of the Therapeutic Area Specialist (TAS) is to drive demand for BMS medicines within their portfolio. This is achieved by engaging HCPs with a differentiated Customer Experience (Cx) through deeper scientific dialogue, consistent with the product label, and leveraging new ways of working. The TAS builds and maintains strong professional credibility with regional thought leaders (RTLs) and community-based physicians/HCPs, including those in private practice, medical groups, office staff, and other stakeholders in the patient care continuum, serving as their primary point of contact. The TAS collaborates with other BMS functions as needed to enhance the overall Customer Experience (Cx) by addressing HCP needs in a timely and scientific manner. This role prioritizes the safe and appropriate use of BMS products while focusing on business results, performance objectives, and exemplifying BMS values. The TAS role is field-based, with a significant portion of time spent engaging with external customers.
