At Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS), we are driven by a vision to transform patients' lives through science. Our mission is to discover, develop, and deliver innovative medicines that help patients prevail over serious diseases in areas like oncology, hematology, immunology, and cardiovascular disease. We offer a diverse and promising pipeline, and each of our passionate colleagues contributes to innovations that drive meaningful change. We bring a human touch to every treatment we pioneer. This role is a critical part of our unique customer model, aiming to deliver the most impactful engagement with Health Care Providers (HCPs) and drive the adoption of new and existing medicines for appropriate patients. The primary role of the Therapeutic Area Specialist (TAS) is to drive demand for BMS medicines within their portfolio for appropriate patients. To meet HCP expectations, the TAS engages them with a differentiated Customer Experience (Cx) through deeper scientific dialogue, consistent with the product label, and leveraging new ways of working. The role builds and maintains strong professional credibility with regional thought leaders (RTLs) and community-based physicians/HCPs in private practice, medical group practices, office staff, and other stakeholders in the patient care continuum, serving as their primary point of contact. The TAS liaises with other BMS functions as needed to deliver an overall higher Customer Experience (Cx) by meeting HCP needs in a timely and scientific manner. This role prioritizes the safe and appropriate use of BMS products while also focusing on overall business results and performance objectives, exemplifying BMS values. The TAS role is field-based, with a significant portion of time spent engaging with external customers in the field.
