About The Position

Diverse Agile Solutions is seeking a Senior Tester to support the UI Job Assist Tool (JAT), an initiative to develop and integrate secure APIs and Model Context Protocol (MCP) services between the core UI system of record and an AI-enabled Job Assist Tool. The role validates functional, integration, API, microservice, AI-tool, and MCP behavior to ensure reliable and secure read/write data exchange. The successful candidate can work independently, provide guidance to others, and may have advanced education. The position involves testing APIs, Java microservices, MCP components, and AI integrations; validating business rules and data integrity; maintaining test documentation; investigating defects with technical and business partners; and supporting performance and scalability testing for workloads of approximately 1,500 concurrent users and document-heavy processing. The role also supports knowledge transfer to State staff.

Requirements

60–84 months of relevant experience.
Ability to work independently and provide guidance to others.
60 months of experience performing functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing of enterprise web applications and distributed systems.
36 months of experience testing REST APIs and microservices, including request/response payloads, schemas, authentication, error handling, and backend data validation.
36 months of experience testing Java-based enterprise applications or services and using SQL to validate backend processing and data integrity.
12 months of experience testing or validating AI-enabled applications or integrations, including functional validation of AI outputs and data exchanged with systems of record.
12 months of experience validating MCP servers, clients, tools, or integrations, including expected and error-path behavior.
24 months of experience using API/service testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI, JMeter, or comparable tools.
24 months of experience creating test plans, test cases, traceability, defect documentation, and test execution summaries in an Agile delivery environment.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute functional and integration test scenarios for the AI-enabled UI Job Assist Tool.
Test read/write REST APIs and Java microservices that exchange data between the core UI system and the Job Assist Tool.
Validate MCP servers, clients, tool invocation, request/response handling, and error conditions.
Verify business rules and data-integrity controls that prevent corrupt or unapproved AI-generated data from being written to the UI system.
Execute positive, negative, boundary, regression, and end-to-end tests across APIs, microservices, MCP components, and AI integrations.
Create and maintain test cases, test data, traceability, defect records, and execution results.
Use API testing tools to validate REST endpoints, payloads, schemas, authentication, error handling, and response behavior.
Query backend data stores as needed to confirm processing and persistence.
Collaborate with programmers, data architects, cloud engineers, vendor technical teams, and business subject matter experts to investigate defects and clarify expected behavior.
Support performance and scalability testing for workloads of approximately 1,500 concurrent users and document-heavy processing.
Validate security-sensitive integration behavior in a regulated UI environment and support knowledge transfer to State staff.
