About The Position

Mercury Systems is seeking a Senior Test Technician to test and troubleshoot state-of-the-art, complex digital system assemblies in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. In this role, you will be an extension of the Test Engineering team, responsible for ensuring the proper operation and functionality of advanced technological products. This position is for a seasoned individual contributor in the Test sub-family, working under limited supervision in routine and defined situations. This is a First shift position with hours from 5:00 am - 2:30 pm M-TH and 5:00 am -1:30 pm every other Friday on a 9/80 schedule.

Requirements

  • Perform complex testing and moderate problem solving on digital systems and subassemblies.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing quality standards.
  • Ability to read schematics or other technical data as needed.
  • Ability to prepare complex test reports and data in accordance with functional and acceptance level test procedures.
  • May be requested to assist with red-lining of existing functional testing procedures.
  • Perform complex testing; Thermal, Shock, Vibration and Environmental Tests.
  • Troubleshoot and determine root cause for issues with assemblies, debugging of moderate to complex problems.
  • Use a variety of test equipment; including oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, serial emulators, networking devices, and other tools found in a testing laboratory to ensure the highest quality of integrated and tested products.

  • Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing efficiency within manufacturing.
  • Ability to read and perform test procedures and communicate effectively in the event of potential issues.
  • Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Ability to determine root cause(s) of operating errors and methodologies used to resolve them; ability to apply logic and reason to identify complex problems and develop solutions, ability to predict how changes in operations and process flow will affect manufacturing efficiencies and quality of finished product.
  • Electronics Troubleshooting/Debugging Knowledge: Ability to read and interpret complex schematics and functional/diagnostic specifications for determining root cause of failures in test environment.
  • Training: Able to maintain training to applicable equipment and procedures as assigned per job title.
  • Exceptional Computer Skills: Basic Microsoft Office suite skills are a must.
  • Broad understanding of computer systems; including a basic understanding of TCP/IP, serial communications, RDP use, Linux and basic command structure, and a rudimentary ability to interpret and modify plain-text scripts as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • High school Diploma or equivalent.
  • Factory Logix, Oracle, Xilinx Suites, Dediprog, ProComm, SecureCRT, TeraTerm application knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Apply electronics principles in the test and troubleshooting of high-density multi-system (multiple CPU/FPGA) assemblies, at the board and system level.
  • Perform functional test procedures that verify PCB and system fit, form, and functionality.
  • Apply methods and techniques for effectively monitoring various diagnostics tests and measuring performance on complex systems.
  • Select, set up, and deploy complex and specialized equipment/facilities over a broad spectrum of technologies.
  • Verify and validate product configuration, test processes, and test equipment/setup configuration and operation.
  • Measure, collect, and record performance data that verifies the reliability and validity of the desired function; prepare accurate and complete test reports of all recorded data.
  • Program and verify devices.
  • Troubleshoot systems, devices, processes and/or test set-ups to locate and repair defective areas.
  • Assist engineers in submission of processes and operations that assure proper function of product and test equipment per design specifications by working from general block diagrams, rough outlines of basic circuits, oral instructions, schematics, etc.; making necessary calculations to obtain or compare data as required.
  • Perform initial procedural tests on new and/or changed equipment; submit recommendations for modifications as required to achieve desired results.
  • Submit defects reporting, non-conforming materials reports, and communicate with the production team in resolution of defects/product failures.
  • Perform any other task assigned by supervisor.
