About The Position

This role serves as the final checkpoint before designs are delivered to customers, focusing on testing, validating, and ensuring the perfect performance of precision metal bellows, assemblies, and finished parts. The technician will be responsible for setting up and executing qualification tests, interpreting technical documentation, and collaborating with engineers to develop effective test setups. The position requires supporting multiple test plans concurrently, utilizing mechanical tools and test equipment, identifying and resolving test issues, and maintaining a strong focus on quality, safety, and data integrity. Basic computer systems will be used for data entry and job tracking, and the technician will contribute to maintaining and expanding the capabilities of the engineering test lab, including training and knowledge sharing within the team.

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings/prints
  • Comfortable following written work instructions and procedures
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Skills in rigorous note-taking and data collection
  • Working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including hoses, valves, and regulators
  • Comfortable working with high-pressure systems (6,000+ PSI)
  • Ability to accurately install, read, and interpret pressure and temperature gauges
  • Ability to assemble basic electrical wiring of the sensors and valves necessary to run tests
  • A high school diploma, GED, or technical school associates degree
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment
  • 5-10 years experience in a hands-on technician role

Responsibilities

  • Set up and run qualification tests on precision bellows, assemblies, and finished parts
  • Read and understand technical drawings, qualification test plans, and customer specifications
  • Work with engineers to develop test setups capable of meeting test requirements
  • Support multiple test plans simultaneously with multiple active tests per plan
  • Use mechanical tools and test equipment to run qualification tests
  • Identify and work to correct test issues
  • Keep quality, safety, and data integrity at the forefront of everything
  • Use basic computer systems for data entry and job tracking
  • Maintain and grow the capabilities of the engineering test lab
