About The Position

As a member of the system test team, the Senior test engineer will actively participate in all phases of the software development life cycle. The Test engineer will gather requirements, conduct analysis, create application test plans and test cases based on business requirements and design, work with development team or clients to troubleshoot, resolve, document problems, perform various types of testing (compliance, integration, regression, and acceptance), execute test cases/scripts (manual and automated), validate and present output results, test bug fixes, enter and track defects, and create test processes and procedures as needed.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of programming languages such as VB, C, C++.
  • Strong skills in manual testing techniques and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with various testing frameworks and their implementation.
  • Understanding of QA processes, standards, and best practices.
  • Ability to design and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve defects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with development teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to document test results and create detailed reports.
  • Experience in leading and mentoring junior testers.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate testing activities within a team.
  • Skills in managing testing projects, including planning, scheduling, and tracking progress.

Responsibilities

  • Work with multiple cross functional engineering teams (Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Software and Simulation etc.) to develop test strategies to ensure a high-quality system that addresses all customer requirements in a timely manner and within the allocated budget.
  • Interface and work directly with customers on requirements, and project managers to coordinate project test activities.
  • Design and develop customized testing procedures and oversee projects from initial testing through local or nationwide deployment.
  • Review customer documentation to identify and analyze all requirements.
  • Design test plans, test data test environment, scenarios, procedures, and scripts to accurately assess that the developed system addresses all customer requirements.
  • Create detailed, step-by-step documentation of test procedures to ensure repeatability, coverage of customer requirements and compliance with standards.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with project teams, project management, and customers to facilitate quick resolution of problems and document resolution agreements.
  • Identify, analyze and create detailed records of problems that appear during testing, and work directly with developers to find solutions and develop retesting procedures.
  • Track internal or customer reported problems, resolutions, and bug fixes throughout testing procedure with standardized tool such as JIRA.
  • Design and implement applicable automated testing tools and upgrade them as needed to ensure currency and accuracy.
  • Provide frequent feedback to developers, including recommendations for improvements, evaluation of problems, potential solutions, and discussion of further test requirements.
  • Represent the company in customer-facing technical meetings supporting the project management, development and execution through various customer test phases.
  • Ensure discipline related technical processes, procedures, and best practices are followed in test engineering activities.
  • Be willing to travel to the customer site to support software installation, system testing and troubleshooting.
