About The Position

Amentum is partnering with the DoD SkillBridge program to offer transitioning service members an opportunity to gain valuable civilian work experience through industry-specific training, mentorship, and hands-on projects. This program is designed to help participants translate their military skills into a rewarding civilian career while still on active duty. Participants will work alongside experienced professionals, receive targeted training, and build a professional network to support post-service employment. This specific opportunity is for a Senior Test Engineer to provide support to NSWC Dahlgren H20 for AN/SQQ-89 testing at an integrator location (Lockheed Martin/Manassas VA) for domestic and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) systems.

Requirements

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline with seven (7) years of systems test experience with real-time weapons systems, combat systems, or fire control systems; OR US Naval operational experience in a combat systems rate at the E6 level or higher with four (4) years of systems test experience with real-time weapons systems, combat systems, or fire control systems; OR Ten (10) years of systems test experience with real-time weapons systems, combat systems, or fire control systems.
Active-duty service members within 90 to 180 days of separation, with command approval.
Motivated to learn, adapt, and contribute in a civilian work environment.
Interested in Test Engineering on naval systems.

Nice To Haves

Experience in testing and test analysis of systems or software for surface ship weapons control and C2 systems.
Performing test activities including developer/capability level testing, functional level testing (FQT/Verification and Validation), software/system integration testing, or AEGIS combat systems integration land-based testing.
Using simulators in a test environment.
Experience with Agile tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, Confluence).
Experience with ASW fire control system (e.g., AN/SQQ-89).

Responsibilities

Write and execute test cases that will exercise both the SQQ-89 system as well as its external interfaces including but not limited to AWS, VLS, TSP, and Radar.
Document issues observed with SQQ-89 and its external interfaces with clear descriptions and steps to reproduce for later analysis.
Review system documentation and requirements and provide technical input to the Systems Engineering team.
Review issues from the Fleet Support team and re-create the issue in the lab for further investigation.
Witness installing the SQQ-89 system ensuring the SVD is following and providing redlined changes as needed.
Work with the system Integrator's automated test team to design automated test scripts.
