About The Position
CGI is seeking an experienced Senior Test Automation Engineer who is passionate about automation, modern engineering practices, and delivering high-quality software. The successful candidate will design and develop automated testing solutions across API, application, and database technology stacks while contributing throughout the software development lifecycle. This is a full-time, on-site employment opportunity based in the Cary, NC area.
Requirements
- At least 10+ years of experience in software development and testing
- Strong experience testing RESTful web services/APIs.
- Hands on experience with REST Assured, Bruno, or similar API testing tools/frameworks.
- Expertise in SQL skills including data validation and comparison.
- Must have hands on experience on relational database like Oracle.
- Object oriented programming proficiency in Java, Python, or similar languages.
- Understanding of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines, including tools such as Jenkins.
- Strong automation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working within Agile engineering teams.
Nice To Haves
- AWS or other cloud platform certifications.
- Experience developing RESTful web services using Java.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks.
- Develop automated tests for RESTful APIs and web services.
- Perform database validation and testing using SQL.
- Build reusable automation solutions using object-oriented programming languages such as Java or Python.
- Participate throughout the SDLC, including design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD and DevOps pipelines.
- Collaborate closely with developers, analysts, and other engineering team members.
- Identify quality risks and drive improvements in test automation and engineering practices.
- Evaluate and recommend new testing technologies, frameworks, and design patterns.
- Contribute to Agile team ceremonies and continuous improvement initiatives.
