About The Position

Assist in the daily operation of the branch under the supervision of the Branch Operations Manager within the guidance and directives as determined by Branch Administration. With prior branch teller and new accounts experience, position responsibilities include but not limited to: Processing paying and receiving transactions. Daily teller cash reconciliation and teller drawer balancing. Prepare and process internal and external customer account transfer requests. Prepare outgoing wire transfer requests. Answer and respond to telephone inquiries. Run and prepare daily reports for supervisor review. Daily balancing of branch cash. Assist in preparing outgoing shipments and change orders. Vault cash processing and daily balancing. New Account callback as assigned by supervisor. Back-up new accounts as needed. Process checks and deposit slip orders and reorders from customers. Assist in processing address and customer information changes. Assist in processing branch teller proof work to include encoding and scanning. Assist supervisor in branch cross-training as assigned. Special projects and all other duties as trained and assigned. Daily contact with Senior Lending Officers, Loan Officers, Loan Documentation Dept., other branches, and departments. Daily telephone and personal contact with customers, outside agencies, and others.

Requirements

  • Thorough understanding of banking functions as related to paying and receiving teller transactions, branch operations and new accounts.
  • Ability to be effective within the daily branch operations functions with little supervision.
  • Ability to understand more complex banking terms and applications.
  • Ability to communicate procedures and train others.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Thorough understanding and knowledge of products and services offered through the bank to include cash management and electronic banking.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts, add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Apply common sense to perform detailed but uninvolved written and verbal instructions.
  • Able to understand and follow established Bank policies and procedures.

  • Gain experience and competency through training and daily interaction with supervisors and co-workers.

  • Working knowledge of computers and bank operating systems e.g., Microsoft Outlook and Internet Explorer.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of branch banking.
  • At least two (2) years of experience as a paying and receiving teller working directly with the public.
  • A minimum of two (2) years functioning in a new accounts position either in the primary or back-up role.
  • Background check is required for this position.
