Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Senior Technology Architect As part of MSK’s mission to deliver world‑class care and pursue bold innovation, the Technology Architect II plays a key role in designing, integrating, and enhancing enterprise technology systems. This role strengthens MSK’s technical foundation by shaping architectural standards, improving system performance, and ensuring technological solutions meet strategic goals.

Requirements

  • 4–7 years of relevant experience in technology architecture or systems engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of multi‑platform solution design and enterprise integration.
  • Experience reviewing and evaluating technical standards and solution designs.
  • Ability to assess risks, costs, and benefits of technical options.
  • Advanced Linux administration experience, including Red Hat–based systems.
  • Experience with job scheduling and workload management platforms (e.g., Slurm or equivalent).

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to cloud platforms, distributed systems, and modern compute architectures; cloud certifications a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Researches and analyzes solutions aligned with business and technology strategies.
  • Designs and proposes enterprise‑level technology solutions across multiple platforms.
  • Operates independently with deep domain knowledge.
  • Contributes effectively to technical and team discussions.
  • Improves the quality and performance of technical solutions.
  • Works at the subsystem level to ensure architectural coherence.
  • Develops and documents technical standards and integration frameworks.
  • Reviews and advises on software and hardware builds, risks, and benefits.
  • Participates in architecture governance and defines service levels and support processes.
  • Establish standards, documentation, and operational practices for HPC hybrid platforms and lifecycle management
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on complex architecture decisions, tradeoffs, and roadmap planning.
  • Architects and integrates HPC and hybrid scientific computing platforms to support research‑intensive workloads
  • Collaborates with researchers, engineers, and IT stakeholders to translate scientific requirements into technical solutions
