About The Position

The Senior Technician is a heavy equipment mechanic specializing in the modernization and repairing of cranes. This position involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades, as well as solving complex problems when cranes malfunction. The role requires self-sufficiency, leadership abilities, effective communication, and professionalism to lead field technicians and act as a liaison between HCSG management and customers. The Technician works in a safety-first environment. HCSG is a 24/7 service company, requiring technicians to be available on-call and provide after-hour or weekend services as needed by customers.

Requirements

  • At least 5-7 years of crane repair & maintenance experience OR at least 3-4 years of electrical and/or mechanical experience in lieu of crane repair & maintenance experience.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Must always commit to working and driving safely.
  • Must be willing to work off the ground at various heights.
  • Must have basic computer skills to work with web-based crane inspection programs.
  • Must be able to communicate well with others and work independently or as a team.
  • Knowledge of hand tools and/or possess hand tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational/Technical training certificate.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background (DISA) and submit to random and annual drug testing as required.

Responsibilities

  • Be on-call and provide after-hour services as required.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and upgrade industrial hoists and cranes in the field at customer locations.
  • Train and mentor field technicians.
  • Perform OSHA required hoist and crane inspections and generate inspection reports and repair orders.
  • Communicate with the Service Manager and Branch Manager daily for work scheduling and completion.
  • Consult with customers regarding all repair and safety-related issues and discuss recommendations for service improvement.
  • Maintain all company-issued equipment, vehicle, and assets in a safe and proper working order.
  • Operate tools, equipment, and vehicles in a safe and responsible manner and notify immediate supervisor of any deficiencies.
  • Maintain supply of HCSG forms and miscellaneous materials in the company vehicle.
  • Maintain the ability to work with others in a team environment.
  • Attend company-provided trainings and seminars as required.
  • Participate in HCSG 5 Marks program.
  • Other duties as assigned.
