About The Position

Performs minor and major repairs on trucks and trailers, conducts regular preventative maintenance, collaborates with the repair team to diagnose problems, and maintains accurate records of all repairs. Responsible for repairing, modifying, and performing preventative maintenance on applicable fleet vehicles, ensuring all maintenance requirements are met. Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical malfunctions, inspects fleet vehicles for DOT compliance (including brake maintenance), and completes all required daily reporting. Maintains inventories of equipment, parts, and supplies, and prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, and adheres to strict safe work practices to comply with all Company, DOT, and OSHA regulations.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in fleet maintenance
  • Must be able to read and comprehend technical reference materials (equipment and repair manuals)
  • Experience with applicable Microsoft and diagnostic applications
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Prompt, professional and dependable demeanor

Nice To Haves

  • Welding and body fabrication experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Performs minor and major repairs on trucks and trailers
  • Conducts regular preventative maintenance on service trucks, including inspection, tire rotation and oil changes
  • Collaborates with repair team to diagnose problems with vehicles and plan repairs
  • Maintains accurate records of each repair performed on vehicles
  • Responsible for repairing, modifying and performing preventative maintenance on applicable fleet vehicles
  • Responsible for all maintenance to the operation of equipment by completing all required preventive maintenance requirements
  • Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical malfunctions
  • Inspects fleet vehicles to ensure that all vehicles are DOT compliant to include brake maintenance
  • Completes all required daily reporting as required
  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level
  • Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Adheres to strict safe work practices to comply with all Company, DOT and OSHA regulations
