About The Position

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Technician II-Equipment (CVD) for its Fab 4 facility in Gresham, Oregon. This role is crucial for supporting the maintenance of semiconductor manufacturing equipment within Fab 4. The ideal candidate will possess excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment. This position operates on a front night compressed work week shift, working Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and every other Saturday, from 6:15 PM to 6:30 AM.

Requirements

  • AA degree in a technical field or equivalent semiconductor industry experience, military training or technical degree.
  • 10+ years of experience in equipment maintenance performing PM’s on Novellus tools or equivalent technical military experience.
  • Solid organizational, documentation and writing skills.
  • Creative problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Self-directed, self-motivated.
  • Proficient with MS Office products.
  • Able to lift, push, pull approx. 50 lbs; carry 50 lbs; sit 5%; stand 60%; walk 35%.
  • Must be able to perform activities that include climbing, bending at waist, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, crawling, handling, feeling, hearing, talking, seeing.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience on Novellus and AMAT tools.
  • Additional experience in other fab maintenance areas.

Responsibilities

  • Repair Watkins Johnson, Novellus CVD and Cu Sabre, AG RTP, and Applied Centura RTP systems.
  • Work with systems containing radiation, electrical, mechanical, liquid, and gas hazards.
  • Troubleshoot electronic, electrical, and mechanical problems.
  • Read and interpret mechanical prints and electrical/electronic schematics.
  • Practice effective and productive written and verbal communication.
  • Document work in maintenance logs effectively.
  • Follow procedures and instructions.
  • Contribute as a reliable and effective team member with minimal supervision.
  • Participate as an active member of the Fab 4 ERT (Emergency Response Team).
  • Meet the requirements of the ERT physical.
  • Pass a physical, fit test, and medical clearance for the usage of a tight-fitting respirator (SCBA full face mask level).
  • Maintain physical requirements for wearing SCBA full face mask level.
  • Be able and willing to travel for training purposes.
