About The Position

Walmart is expanding its workforce and actively recruiting Senior Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technicians for its local retail stores. As a Senior Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician, you will support and oversee repairs within the Walmart facilities Refrigeration HVAC equipment team and assets by utilizing commercial HVAC and Refrigeration skills. You will use hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs. This role involves maintaining and repairing Walmart facility's Refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets, utilizing the work order management system to receive and document repair activities, and providing prompt response to emergency maintenance calls. You will also be responsible for inspecting, operating, or testing facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues, completing all required training for safe equipment operation, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and guidelines.

Requirements

10 years’ experience in commercial Refrigeration HVAC maintenance
Large Scale Rack Refrigeration Experience
Type I/Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification for Refrigerant handling
Hold a valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report
18 years or older with a High School Diploma or equivalent
3 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration OR 6 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration and Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
Hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.
Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman.
1 year’s experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area or 2 years’ Walmart store experience.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
Ability to read and speak the English language as required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.

Nice To Haves

Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
Completion of a 2-year technical/vocational HVAC/R program or 2-year associate’s of applied science A/C and refrigeration.
Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
Prior work experience with Glycol and C02 systems.

Responsibilities

Maintain and repair Walmart facility's Refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets by utilizing commercial HVAC and Refrigeration skills and using hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs.
Utilize the work order management system to receive repair Work Orders to support Stores and Store associates and document repair activities.
Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
Inspecting, operating, or testing facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
Complete all required training requirements to operate equipment and tools safely.
Ensures compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Environmental Protection Agency regulations and guidelines by performing work according to practices and procedures outlined in the Walmart Refrigeration HVAC safety policy and environmental guidelines.
Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and comfortable working at heights frequently.
