About The Position

This position performs routine preventive maintenance to ensure the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of facilities, equipment, and fixtures. The role involves inspecting, cleaning, and repairing facilities, observing and documenting wear and tear, and gathering capital expense information. The Senior Technician recommends repair and replacement needs, documents maintenance activities, and uses heavy machinery. This role also involves training and mentoring less-experienced technicians, delivering hands-on training sessions, and performing major and minor repairs. The Senior Technician acts as a job foreman, utilizing multiple craft skills such as plumbing, electrical, and carpentry. They inspect, operate, and test equipment to diagnose issues, dismantle equipment to access defective parts, and use blueprints and repair manuals. The role requires responding to emergency calls, documenting repair activities, and evaluating technician skill sets. Additionally, the Senior Technician ensures financial sustainability by managing work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors, ordering parts, managing inventory, and compiling budget information. They must comply with OSHA and EPA regulations, develop relationships with suppliers and contractors, and ensure contractors meet quality and safety standards. The role also includes maintaining company vehicles, safely operating motor vehicles, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures regarding uniforms and badges. The Senior Technician operates and inspects heavy machinery and powered equipment, performing safety checks and addressing unsafe conditions. They lead and participate in teams, develop and implement processes, and promote compliance with company policies and ethical standards. Requirements

Vocational or technical certification and 3 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
6 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.

Nice To Haves

Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.

Responsibilities

Performs major and minor repairs on facilities, equipment, or fixtures and oversees work of less-experienced associates by determining scopes of work for projects.
Serves as a job foreman on assigned work sites.
Utilizes multiple craft skills (for example, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment).
Inspects, operates, or tests facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
Dismantles equipment, machines, or facilities to access and remove defective parts.
Diagnoses problems utilizing blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
Utilizes hand tools, power tools, hoists, and other equipment.
Responds to emergency calls.
Documents repair activities.
Evaluates Technicians' skill sets.
Provides on-site training sessions.
Performs on-site repairs for hands-on learning.
Ensures completed work meets or exceeds quality, safety, and code requirements.
Ensures financial sustainability and manages work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors by completing and providing required written and electronic information (for example, expense vouchers, weekly summaries, work orders, maintenance logs).
Conducts price comparison of parts and travel related costs.
Orders parts and replacement equipment and tracks orders.
Records purchases and usage.
Manages parts inventory.
Reviews journals and invoices.
Compiles and reports budget information.
Submits warranty claims.
Complies with Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Environmental Protection Agency regulations and guidelines.
Ensures quality work is completed that complies with federal, state, and local regulations.
Develops relationships with local parts suppliers and contractors.
Ensures contractors follow Walmart quality standards, safety requirements, and meet contract requirements.
Identifies and reports deficiencies.
Unloads and stores equipment.
Transports equipment between facilities.
Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
Uses the Open Door Policy.
Maintains company vehicles in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Coordinates and transports vehicles for required maintenance, ensuring beforehand that alternate driving support is arranged.
Safely operates motor vehicles and ensures that the vehicle has all required documents.
Checks fuel and water levels, brake condition, signals, and lights.
Submits maintenance invoices for payment.
Verifies the coverage and validity of vehicle insurance.
Wears company uniform and badge in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Operates, inspects, and maneuvers heavy machinery and powered equipment (for example, forklifts, material handling equipment, industrial machines, shop equipment, vehicles) in accordance with training, certification requirements, and safety procedures.
Performs pre-operation safety checks and post-operation inspections to ensure equipment is safe, functional, and compliant with applicable standards.
Identifies unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or potential hazards and takes appropriate corrective action or escalates as required.
