About The Position

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a Senior Technician I-Equipment (Implant) for its Fab 4 facility in Gresham, Oregon. This role supports the maintenance of semiconductor manufacturing equipment within the fab. The ideal candidate will possess excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment. This position operates on a front night compressed work week shift, working from 6:15 PM to 6:30 AM on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and every other Saturday.

Requirements

  • AA degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering Technology or pertinent technical discipline, OR equivalent semiconductor industry experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in Ion Implant equipment maintenance.
  • Experience with tool types: Varian VIISion 80, E220/500, VIISta HC, VIISta 810 and Axcelis GSD200 / GSD-HE.
  • Electronic and mechanical aptitude.
  • Natural affinity for electronic and mechanical tinkering.
  • A strong desire for personal continuous improvement and learning.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic IT and software skills (MS Office).
  • Solid organizational, documentation, and writing skills.
  • Ability to contribute as an efficient and reliable team member with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to meet the requirements of the ERT physical.
  • Must pass a physical, fit test and medical clearance for the usage of a tight-fitting respirator (SCBA full face mask level).
  • Ability to travel infrequently for training purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair Implant semiconductor systems.
  • Effectively troubleshoot electronic, electrical, and mechanical problems.
  • Work with systems that contain radiation, electrical, mechanical, liquid, and gas hazards.
  • Perform preventative maintenance according to schedule and specifications.
  • Read and interpret mechanical prints and electrical/electronic schematics.
  • Use schematics, tools, and common test equipment for calibration, diagnosis, and repair of equipment.
  • Disassemble, adjust, and repair equipment according to maintenance specifications and OEM manuals.
  • Document work effectively in maintenance logs.
  • Communicate detailed information clearly and effectively.
  • Participate as an active member of the Fab 4 ERT (Emergency Response Team).
  • Maintain physical requirements for wearing a tight-fitting respirator (SCBA full face mask level).
