About The Position

Draper is seeking experienced Senior Technicians to join their electronics assembly team. This role involves supporting the building of advanced hardware in a cleanroom/lab environment. Technicians will collaborate with engineers to assemble electronics for semiconductor systems, CCAs, and wire cabling/harnessing. Responsibilities include hand soldering, wire bonding, and operating/maintaining tools and equipment within a cleanroom setting.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a two-year technical school with at least five years of applicable experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of applicable experience working in a semiconductor process or advanced packaging or production facility.
  • Knowledge of cleanroom practices and protocols.
  • Knowledge of small scale production environment.
  • Proficiency with MS Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook.
  • Applicants selected for this position will be required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with J-STD-001, IPC-WHMA-A-620, and IPC-7711/7721 standards or a current certification.
  • Experienced hand soldering professionals are valued.

Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled SMT or microelectronics assembly work under the limited supervision of senior technical personnel.
  • Perform extremely refined hand soldering with solid technique and complex conventional and/or microelectronics assembly requiring a high degree of manual dexterity.
  • Operate, clean, maintain, and/or calibrate SMT and/or microelectronics assembly equipment requiring highly skilled and specialized knowledge.
  • Perform work of an essentially repetitive nature requiring highly specialized skills for production of deliverable hardware.
  • Carefully document own work consistent with work unit policy in handwritten form or using common computer-based software.
  • Assist in scientific experiments, test, or process development initiatives under the limited supervision of senior technical personnel.
  • Support the execution of acceptance procedures under the limited supervision of senior technical personnel.
  • Perform focused training to enable progression into higher skilled positions.
  • Mentor, train, or supervise more junior technicians.
  • Perform other temporary assignments at the discretion of the supervisor.
