About The Position

A leader in cutting-edge research and technology in the cyber arena, CPMG focuses on using business drivers to guide cybersecurity activities and manage risk. CPMG offers flexible, integrative solutions for Department of Defense (DoD) contractors, among others, and specializes in cybersecurity, information and operational technology, electronic security surveillance, and support services. Summary: The Senior Technical Writer is responsible for creating maintenance reports, developing, reviewing, and standardizing program documentation. The role ensures all reports are accurate, consistent, compliant with company and regulatory standards, and clearly communicate technical information to diverse audiences. This position works closely with field technicians and management to transform complex technical data into clear, concise, and professional documentation.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of technical writing standards (e.g., MIL-STD-38784, ASD-STE100 Simplified Technical English, ISO 9001).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and content management systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and analytical skills. Strong attention to detail, collaboration, and ability to translate complex technical data into reader-friendly formats.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, and technical writing tools.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 3-5 years of experience writing and editing technical documentation, preferably in maintenance, engineering, IT, or defense programs.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance

Responsibilities

  • Create Maintenance Service Reports from data submitted from Field Teams.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for maintenance activities, including service reports, inspection logs, troubleshooting guides, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Standardize report templates and ensure consistent formatting and structure across all maintenance teams.
  • Review maintenance data, field notes, and system logs to produce clear, accurate reports for management and clients.
  • Edit and proofread documentation for grammar, clarity, and compliance with internal quality and safety standards.
  • Ensure traceability and proper version control for all reports, manuals and procedures.
  • Recommend improvements to documentation processes and digital reporting tools.
  • Develop style guides, templates, and documentation standards.
  • Coordinate with teams and supervisors to verify technical accuracy of reports.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to gather technical inputs and ensure document completeness.
  • Support compliance audits by ensuring documentation meets internal QA/QC and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 55000).
