About the position
The successful candidate for this role will be a writer who is curious, loves to learn new technologies, and is a strong team player. They will be responsible for planning and delivering their own content, and will work independently and as part of a team in a distributed, fast-paced environment. The main responsibilities of the role include documenting data-driven applications, designing and building effective documentation to support customers, and working closely with engineering and product management to understand product capabilities. The candidate should have 4-6 years of experience documenting enterprise web-based applications and deep experience in independently organizing and creating technical documentation.
Responsibilities
- Document data-driven applications that run on top of the core product platform.
- Plan, design, and build effective documentation to support customers throughout the customer lifecycle.
- Work closely with engineering and product management to understand product capabilities and document function, usage, and limitations.
- Work closely with a diverse and distributed documentation team to learn and follow editorial style standards and review processes.
- Produce high-quality, easily consumable, customer-focused online content, including user documentation and videos targeted at business users and implementers of the product.
- Create end-user and API documentation (release notes, help files, frequently asked questions, quick reference guides, API references, etc.).
- Drive significant content goals using qualitative and quantitative data to measure outcomes.
- Provide estimates for resource and project planning purposes for documentation tasks.
- Request and implement internal and external feedback on documents.
