About The Position

nou Systems, Inc. (nSI) is seeking a Senior Technical Staff member to join their Technical Solutions team in Huntsville, Alabama. This role is within a rapidly growing technology company focused on missile defense, cybersecurity, test range modernization, biotechnology, and space control marketspaces. The successful candidate will be part of a team known for deploying new products for military and commercial use. The position involves supporting and leading projects that develop and exploit new technologies, executing multiple proof-of-concept projects, and participating in securing funding through proposals. This is considered a mid-level to senior position requiring exceptional technical ingenuity, intellectual curiosity, aptitude for building tangible products, clear communication, and a track record of successful business development/bid and proposal efforts. The candidate must be a self-starter with a history of seeking out and capitalizing on learning opportunities.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree at minimum, in a scientific or engineering field such as Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Aerospace Engineering, or similar.
15+ years of full-time professional experience in an engineering role.
Possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret Security Clearance.
A high degree of technical competence in one or more of the following areas: Electrical engineering, Software development (backend; one or more of Python/C++/C), Machine learning (or a combination of mathematics and computer programming), Mechanical engineering, Materials Science.
Outstanding demonstrated technical competence and ingenuity in one of the five areas identified above (EE, software dev, ML, MechE, or Mat Sci).
Exceptional aptitude for building tangible products (demonstrated by a portfolio of work).
Strong intellectual curiosity (evidence of leaving comfort zone voluntarily).
Demonstrated history of effective collaboration (including communication, planning, coordination, and 'soft' skills).
Demonstrated history of successful business development / bid and proposal / commercialization efforts.
U.S. citizenship is required for most positions.

Responsibilities

Supporting and leading projects that develop and exploit new technologies.
