Lazer's Fintech practice partners with some of the most ambitious teams in financial software, across payments, lending, capital markets, embedded finance, and AI-native financial products. We're still deep in the crypto ecosystem too, working with some of the most well-known crypto-native trading and infrastructure projects. The bigger story is the convergence: traditional finance platforms are modernizing fast and leveraging both crypto and AI, and our practice sits right at that intersection. Many of our engagements involve clients embedding agents, copilots, and LLM-driven workflows directly into their financial products. Requirements

  • 5 to 7 years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience hiring software engineers
  • Meaningful experience in crypto, fintech or adjacent financial infrastructure (payments, lending, capital markets, embedded finance, financial data platforms)
  • Blended background across in-house and agency or embedded search
  • Actively wants to use AI in day-to-day recruiting work
  • Deeply AI-fluent on the candidate side, able to credibly evaluate engineers shipping with LLMs, agents, RAG, evals, and modern AI infrastructure
  • A real, warm network of fintech engineering talent across the US and Canada
  • An exceptional closer who can articulate technical opportunities to skeptical senior engineers and read what actually motivates them
  • A direct, low-ego operator comfortable with ambiguity and a fast-moving environment
  • Strong written communicator whose outreach gets opened and replied to

Responsibilities

  • Own the hiring funnel for engineering roles across Lazer's Fintech practice, from intake to offer signed
  • Partner directly with Cofounders and Fintech leadership to translate strategy into a sharp, prioritized hiring plan
  • Source proactively, building lists, writing thoughtful outreach, and running sourcing sprints
  • Build and run interview loops that move fast and protect quality, including writing rubrics and coaching interviewers
  • Use AI to compound output, building sourcing agents, automating tasks, and raising the ceiling on recruiter output
  • Close candidates with substance, leading reference calls, managing offer negotiations, and getting the right people across the line
  • Bring market signal back to the business: comp benchmarks, competitive intel, what we're losing candidates on, and what to change
  • Help shape how we hire as we scale, building a playbook that gets applied across the rest of the company
