Senior Technical Program Manager

SentrySan Francisco, CA
$180,000 - $200,000

About The Position

Sentry is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to oversee the end of the Engineering, Product, and Design (EPD) pipeline, specifically from feature development to successful customer delivery. This role involves defining and establishing best practices for product launches at Sentry, creating frameworks, playbooks, and operational rhythms to ensure coordinated and confident releases. The position requires someone who can identify and address complexities in the connective tissue between Engineering, Product, Legal, Marketing, Go-to-Market (GTM), and Sales, building a durable system for product launches. This is an opportunity for an individual energized by ambiguity, skilled in designing operating models, and seeking ownership over a function impacting all company teams.

Requirements

  • 5–8+ years of Technical Program Management experience in a high-growth SaaS company.
  • Meaningful exposure to product launches, release operations, or GTM coordination.
  • A builder mindset with examples of creating processes or frameworks from scratch that were adopted.
  • Strong data and analytics instincts to understand release health, customer adoption, and process quality.
  • Proven ability to drive alignment and decisions across Engineering, Product, Legal, Marketing, GTM, and Sales without direct authority.
  • Sharp written communication skills for launch briefs, escalations, and process documentation.
  • Strong prioritization skills to triage competing demands and keep important initiatives moving.

Nice To Haves

  • Want to own something meaningful: not just run a process someone else designed, but define what great looks like and build toward it.
  • Are energized by cross-functional complexity and have a gift for aligning people across Engineering, Product, Legal, Marketing, GTM, and Sales without formal authority.
  • Think in systems: you see the full release lifecycle and instinctively want to build the operating model around it.
  • Use data to diagnose problems and measure progress. You're comfortable pulling and interpreting analytics to understand what's working and what isn't.
  • Care deeply about the customer experience of receiving new software, not just whether it shipped, but whether it landed well.

Responsibilities

  • Define the Launch Standard: Establish what a great product launch looks like at Sentry, including gates, playbooks, decision rights, and rituals.
  • Own Feature Flag & Cohort Strategy: Implement intentional strategies for early access programs, beta cohorts, and staged rollouts to ensure customers receive the right features at the right time and to gather learnings from each rollout.
  • Orchestrate Cross-Functional Readiness: Coordinate Engineering, Product, Legal, Marketing, GTM, and Sales to ensure alignment and readiness before product shipment, surfacing dependencies, driving decisions, and preventing issues.
  • Keep Everyone Informed and Confident: Develop a visibility layer (dashboards, launch briefs, status updates) to keep stakeholders informed with high-signal, low-noise communication.
  • Improve with Every Launch: Instrument the release process to track friction, conduct retrospectives, and lead continuous improvements for smoother launches.

Benefits

  • incentive compensation
  • equity grants
  • paid time off
  • group health insurance coverage
