The Payment Networks Switching Solutions team is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead large cross-functional strategic initiatives for both Market and Internal facing programs. This role involves engaging with product and development teams from initial packaging through production deployment, with the TPM acting as the single accountable individual for project delivery. Technical Program Managers at Mastercard are expected to conceptualize, rationalize, and drive multiple simultaneous projects, delivering engineering work within a scrum execution model. They are encouraged to delve deeply into the tech stack, integration patterns, organizational capabilities, and company-wide assets to devise technical solutions for customer challenges. Key contributions include shaping strategies, making design choices, and even influencing cloud infrastructure to create comprehensive, believable, and achievable execution plans for new, high-profile features and capabilities. The TPM may be responsible for driving feature execution across the entire stack or managing projects that span multiple teams and integrations, providing regular and meaningful status updates.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to operate with independence and autonomy
  • Experience defining and building cloud-native software products as a platform at scale with a deep understanding of those platforms capabilities and underlying technologies
  • Demonstrated experience breaking down problems, organizing work, planning sprints, and delivering technical programs in agile delivery models (scrum, Kanban, etc.)
  • Enjoys diving deep to understand of the platforms capabilities and underlying technologies
  • Proven track record of data driven decision-making and applying continuous improvement methodologies across teams
  • Can debate the delivery strategy with business teams, architects, engineers, and designers
  • Can communicate to executives, peers, and staff with impact, eloquence, and authenticity
  • Demonstrated experience building relationships, partnering with and influencing dependent teams while commanding the respect of the individuals you work with across the organization
  • BS in engineering, computer science or related discipline
  • Technical program delivery experience including time developing and testing software

  • Expertise in Payments, IaaS, PaaS, serverless technology, CI/CD, NoSQL databases, microservices APIs, and distributed systems operations in a DevOps model

Responsibilities

  • Driving large cross-functional strategic initiatives supporting Market and Internal facing programs
  • Engaging with product and development teams from packaging to production deployment
  • Acting as the single accountable person driving delivery of each project
  • Conceptualizing, rationalizing, and driving multiple simultaneous projects to deliver engineering work across the portfolio in a scrum execution model
  • Diving deep into the tech stack, the integration patterns, the organizational capabilities, and the company wide assets that can be leveraged to provide technical solutions to customer problems
  • Contributing to the strategies, design choices, and even the cloud infrastructure necessary to build comprehensive believable and achievable execution plans to deliver high-profile new features and capabilities for customers
  • Driving the execution of a feature through the full stack or driving a project which spans multiple teams and integrations, reporting meaningful status along the way
