Senior Technical Program Manager, Vehicles

Anduril IndustriesCosta Mesa, CA

About The Position

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years. We are seeking a highly motivated Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead program execution for our Vehicles team, with a focus on Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs). In this role, you'll own the complete lifecycle from software development through hardware deployment in the field, serving as the critical bridge between engineering, test & evaluation, program management, and customer deliverables. You'll combine deep technical expertise with exceptional cross-functional leadership to shape roadmaps, drive stability, and ensure our autonomous vehicle systems deliver mission-critical capabilities on time and to specification. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives at the intersection of hardware and software, loves building in ambiguity, and is energized by seeing autonomous systems perform in real-world environments.

Requirements

  • 5+ years managing complex technical programs spanning software development, hardware engineering, and physical deployment/field operations in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, system architecture, and hardware-software integration.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences, facilitate difficult trade-off discussions, and maintain transparency across stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority, building alignment and driving execution across multiple functional teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience with autonomous vehicles, robotics, or unmanned systems (aerial, ground, or maritime).
  • Background in defense, aerospace, or other mission-critical environments.
  • Experience with field testing, operational deployment, and managing programs in real-world, unpredictable environments.
  • Familiarity with embedded systems, sensor integration, or vehicle control systems.
  • Experience with modern software development tooling (JIRA, Confluence, Git, etc.).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related technical field.

Responsibilities

  • Own Full Lifecycle Execution: drive USV programs end-to-end from software development through hardware integration, field testing, and deployment. Partner with program managers to own technical accountability for customer deliverables, ensuring commitments are met with high quality and reliability.
  • Shape Roadmap & Drive Alignment: help define and execute the vehicles team roadmap, working across engineering, hardware, operations, and test teams to de-risk dependencies, align priorities, and ensure clarity on what ships when. Lead cross-functional stability initiatives to improve vehicle performance and reliability in operational environments.
  • Enable Technical Excellence: develop deep technical fluency in vehicle systems to effectively facilitate architectural discussions, evaluate trade-offs, and drive consensus on technical decisions across engineering teams. Partner closely with test and evaluation teams to coordinate software testing in real-world field environments, ensuring rapid feedback loops.
  • Accelerate Delivery & Remove Blockers: manage, unblock, and accelerate complex technical projects. Collaborate with product and engineering leads to scope capabilities, support staffing plans, and deliver on company milestones.
  • Establish Program Rigor & Visibility: define and implement program management tools, processes, and mechanisms that scale with team growth. Track and communicate program progress and provide visibility into program health.
