About The Position

AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, ensuring customers have continuous access to innovation. The Data Center Infrastructure Reliability and Quality (IRQ) Team specifically focuses on the quality and reliability of critical infrastructure equipment throughout its lifecycle. This involves leading Design for Reliability (DFR) and Design for Quality (DFQ) efforts for new product development, and supporting existing equipment by identifying systemic issues, driving root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.

As a Senior Technical Program Manager for Quality and Reliability in Mechanical and Power Generation Products, you will be a key leader in driving quality and reliability initiatives within a complex engineering environment. You will manage multi-discipline technical program teams, focusing on data center infrastructure technologies such as HVAC, power distribution systems, and security devices. Your role will involve generating enhanced reporting, defining meaningful KPIs, and implementing process improvements to ensure team efficiency and visibility to stakeholders and leadership. You will collaborate closely with engineering, purchasing, and project execution teams, making strategic decisions about project direction and aligning long-term strategies with AWS's rapid growth. Identifying and communicating risks, issues, and bottlenecks, and instrumental in their resolution across departmental boundaries, will be crucial. Strong organizational, communication, and team-building skills are essential for fostering robust working relationships.

Requirements

• Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• 7+ years of experience in highly technical engineering roles in quality, design, or reliability for mechanical products
• 7+ years of technical program management experience

Nice To Haves

• 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
• Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
• Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
• Lean Six Sigma Experience
• Experience building and managing program-level dashboards and reporting, with proficiency in tools such as Smartsheet, Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent platforms

Responsibilities

• Own and execute end-to-end quality and reliability qualification and sustaining programs for highly complex, mission-critical mechanical and power generation products
• Learn and understand the AWS data center lifecycle specific to Data Center Engineering, globally
• Project manage the IRQ Engineering NPD portfolio across scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality, risk, and reporting
• Interface with Quality and Reliability Engineering teams to promote and standardize work-product inputs/outputs globally
• Sync with TPMs and Product Managers to align reliability and quality deliverables to major NPD program milestones
• Develop technical reliability and quality evaluation plans for mechanical and power generation product portfolios with engineering teams
• Work with external partners (reliability labs, OEMs, CMFs) to facilitate testing, qualification, and analysis
• Own product reliability and quality readiness at each NPD gate
• Own supplier readiness for NPDs
• Estimate and manage budget requirements per project; work with NPD teams to allocate resources
• Manage project timelines and report progress bi-weekly to executive leadership and key partners
• Build and present program-level metrics and status to executives on a regular cadence
• Develop business cases to align internal and external leadership on the most effective path for quality and reliability program management
• Drive internal team members and remove roadblocks for product qualification
• Build strong end-to-end team processes and mechanisms
