About The Position

DigitalOcean is seeking a Senior Technical Product Evangelist to join their team. This role sits between product marketing and developer advocacy, focusing on creating hands-on technical content to communicate DigitalOcean's technical story, particularly in the AI space. The evangelist will translate important company narratives into compelling technical content for sophisticated audiences, including presentations for executives, social media content, and technical campaigns. The role requires a strong technical background, exceptional presentation skills, and the ability to work closely with executives. The position is based in San Francisco or requires relocation, with a core focus on in-person presence at Bay Area events.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in technical marketing, product marketing, solutions engineering, developer relations, or technical content, with work consumed by technically sophisticated audiences.
  • Sufficient technical depth to be credible with AI engineers and infrastructure teams, with hands-on ability to build working demos, record walkthroughs, explain inference economics, and compare products to competitors.
  • Fluency with AI-assisted creation tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) for rapid development of demos, videos, or campaign assets.
  • Exceptional presentation skills, both in development and delivery, with a portfolio of talks, decks, or campaigns.
  • Experience working directly with executives or senior leaders on content.
  • Comfort taking a brief and executing against it, serving the company's narrative priorities.
  • Based in San Francisco or willing to relocate, with regular in-person presence at Bay Area events.

  • Experience at an AI infrastructure, developer tools, or cloud company.
  • Existing presence or network in the SF AI/developer community.
  • Experience producing workshop or hands-on lab content.
  • An active technical presence on X with an engaged audience of AI practitioners.

Responsibilities

  • Create speaker content for DigitalOcean's technical leaders and deliver some of it yourself.
  • Own the decks, narratives, and preparation for executives and senior leaders at third-party conferences and industry events.
  • Partner directly with executives, translate their ideas into compelling technical stories, and manage content from CFP to stage.
  • Create deep technical content for X (formerly Twitter), including videos, demos, threads, and posts, in partnership with the Social team.
  • Produce technical content behind product launches and industry moments with speed, accuracy, and the appropriate voice for a technical audience.
  • Build and run brand-aligned technical campaigns, including hands-on labs, workshop materials, and in-person programming for enterprise AI-native accounts.
  • Be the company's presence in San Francisco, attending and participating in local technical community events like meetups, conferences, and hackathons.
