About The Position

National Grid is hiring a Senior Technical Inspector for their Gas Work Methods and Standards department. This role requires routine travel in the field and provides technical expertise from an inspection perspective. At higher levels, this role will also aid in the development of future inspection criteria, modifications to policies, and cross-training between Gas and Electric Material Inspections where applicable. Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years field experience preferred in Gas Construction.
• Ability to work without a need for current or future visa sponsorship.
• Incumbents are subject to federal Drug & Alcohol safety regulations governing US Department of Transportation ("DOT") covered positions, including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA).

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in an engineering discipline (or a related technical discipline), is desired.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field operations work site inspections, including Maintenance and Construction field personnel inspections, and process audits and record reviews in order to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
• Collect, sort, and analyze inspection and audit data in order to identify deficiencies and overall patterns which may impact the quality and safety of operations, and provide recommendations to improve them.
• Maintain and document all results in relevant databases.
• Report findings and coordinate material disposition.
