About The Position
PRR is actively building a talent pipeline for an upcoming opportunity. We are seeking a full-time Senior Technical Editor in the transportation sector. The successful applicant will need to work from the client’s McLean, VA, office in person at least three days a week.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree (Senior) in English, Journalism, or a technical field.
- 10+ years of experience for Senior with supervisory and project management experience.
- Expert-level command of the GPO Style Manual.
- An eye for detail when ensuring quality control for all publications and documents.
Nice To Haves
- Transportation experience, especially in highway and surface transportation is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Oversees the entire editorial process for high-stakes technical documentation, ensuring stylistic consistency across large-scale programs and mentoring junior staff.
- Transforms raw data and engineering jargon into authoritative documents that meet the stringent requirements of the agency, including reference checking, fact checking, and ensuring copyright compliance.
- Focuses on substantive editing, verifying technical accuracy, and ensuring compliance with agency style guides for all documents, reports, and manuals.
- Works independently, managing the full lifecycle of a document from outline to final publication including online and web publishing.
