About The Position

The Senior Technical Developer will work on our Socks Technical Development Team to create and update tech packs using digital and 3D Software (Adobe, CLO, Solidworks, ProE, etc…), collaborating with our cross-functional and factory partners to communicate design intent, materials, construction sketches and graphic placements. You will track and request prototypes, manage and meet calendar target dates, attend meetings that relate to their product’s development and communicate progress and challenges to their team and leadership as needed. You will lead proto review sessions with cross-functional partners, collecting feedback and capturing comments that will lead to an on time confirmable buy-ready product.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (apparel/footwear technical design/development, industrial design, or mechanical design). Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience or training.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years directly relevant work experience in Apparel, Knit Construction, or Accessories product development experience with an eye towards craft and quality.
  • Strong experience using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Strong knowledge of the Knit product development process from inception through production, including raw material, yarn construction, knit structure, costing, manufacturing, and machinery.
  • Ability to create product specs and along with interpreting design intent and offering alternative solutions when appropriate.
  • Ability to act as a technical resource and lead initiatives through high energy and positive influence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to excel in a deadline driven environment.
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills with attention to detail and process orientation.
  • Proficiency with MS Office programs and confident using Adobe Illustrator and CAD Pattern Design software.

  • Experience with textiles, finishings, embellishment, trims, and graphic applications are desired.

  • Understanding the full scope of product creation from design concept to production.
  • Excellent communication skills in a fast-paced environment are a must have, non-negotiable.
