About The Position

Aldrich CPAs and Advisors is looking for a Senior Tax Manager to join our Lake Oswego office and support clients in our construction practice. This is a high-visibility leadership opportunity for an experienced tax professional who wants meaningful client ownership, partner access, and a path toward broader practice leadership. Prior construction tax experience is helpful, but not required. Experience serving closely held businesses, S corporations, partnerships, manufacturing, real estate, or other complex tax clients may translate well. As a Senior Tax Manager at Aldrich, you will work closely with clients, partners, and team members to deliver tax compliance, planning, consulting, and relationship management services. This role is well suited for someone who can quickly build trust with partners and clients, communicate technical tax concepts clearly, and help shape the future of a growing niche practice. The ideal candidate is local to the Lake Oswego/Portland metro area and able to maintain visibility with clients and team members in the Lake Oswego and Salem markets through Aldrich’s hybrid work model.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of recent public accounting experience with a primary focus on tax
  • Experience managing complex client relationships and reviewing tax work
  • Strong client service mindset and ability to build trust with clients and partners
  • Ability to supervise, mentor, and develop others
  • Strong leadership presence and comfort serving as a key point of contact for clients and internal teams
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
  • Successful completion of the CPA exam, licensed CPA, JD, or EA
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior construction tax experience is helpful
  • Experience serving closely held businesses, S corporations, partnerships, manufacturing, real estate, or other complex tax clients may translate well.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex tax client relationships
  • Serve as a tax advisor to closely held businesses, owners, and leadership teams
  • Coordinate and plan service delivery to clients, including review meetings
  • Provide proactive tax planning, consulting, and compliance support
  • Analyze client financial information, assess needs, and recommend strategies
  • Communicate technical tax concepts clearly to clients and internal teams
  • Develop, mentor, and teach staff, seniors, and managers
  • Manage engagement risk and financial performance, including billings, collections, and project budgets
  • Participate in new client prospecting, presentations, and closing meetings
  • Collaborate with partners and leadership to support continued growth in the construction practice
