Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review individual and business tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1065, 1120, and 1120-S
  • Review tax notices and correspondence to determine appropriate follow-up actions, including drafting response letters or initiating internal projects
  • Conduct tax planning reviews; evaluate work prepared by staff, finalize recommendations, and discuss outcomes directly with clients
  • Price completed tax returns and special projects; coordinate with administrative staff to finalize invoices and process payments
  • Lead new client meetings and onboarding discussions
  • Manage ongoing client communication (calls, meetings, and email correspondence) both during and outside of tax season
  • Prepare proposals for new engagements and support renewal proposals for existing accounting clients, including analysis of prior-year data to determine fee adjustments
  • Draft and send client email communications, including informational blasts and updates
  • Review accounting work completed by staff, including general accounting, sales tax, and payroll tasks
  • Provide support with payroll processing and QuickBooks management (SPC QuickBooks)
  • Step in to assist with administrative and tax processing tasks as needed, including e-filing tax returns and preparing extensions
  • Manage office operations, including ordering supplies, depositing checks, and overseeing subscription renewals
  • Address system-related issues (e.g., Abacus, internet), and support clean-up of administrative time within WIPS
  • Collaborate with staff on A/R follow-ups and client notices
  • Update annual Formstack questionnaires and oversee preparation of engagement letters
  • Participate in and help lead biweekly staff meetings
  • Provide general support, guidance, and oversight to team members as needed
