Requirements

  • CPA required
  • 7–10+ years of tax experience, with a strong focus on real estate and 1031 exchanges
  • Deep understanding of partnership taxation, real estate entity structures, and transaction tax implications
  • Strong knowledge of tax research tools, accounting software, and real estate-specific tax matters
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in an onsite, client-facing environment with evolving needs

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in public accounting or client services strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the preparation and review of complex federal and state tax returns for entities involved in real estate transactions, including partnerships, LLCs, and corporations
  • Provide subject matter expertise in 1041 like-kind exchanges, ensuring full compliance with IRS guidelines
  • Conduct tax research and advise on the tax implications of real estate deals, structuring, and deferrals
  • Serve as the primary tax point of contact at the client site, building trusted relationships with client stakeholders
  • Lead tax planning strategies for high-net-worth individuals and real estate investors
  • Collaborate with legal, finance, and accounting teams to ensure seamless execution of client engagements
  • Review and supervise the work of staff and senior accountants assigned to the client project
  • Monitor legislative changes and IRS guidance related to real estate and exchange rules
