About The Position

As the Tax Senior Manager at Safety National, you will play a critical role in overseeing the Company’s monthly, quarterly, and annual tax activities, with a focus on tax accounting and investment tax considerations unique to the insurance industry. In this role, you’ll lead the review of federal income tax provisions, investment tax reports, journal entries, and deferred tax entries across multiple legal entities and accounting bases. You’ll partner cross-functionally, assisting in budgeting, financial reporting workflows, and compliance filings, while supporting process automation efforts and special projects. Your expertise will be vital in responding to global tax reporting requests, advising on legislative changes, and contributing to our industry-leading knowledge through active participation in external association calls. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required
  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
  • This position allows for a hybrid work schedule which includes a minimum of 3 days per week in our St. Louis Corporate Office, located at 1832 Schuetz Rd. Saint Louis, MO. All employees are required to submit work from home requests and follow our Work From Home policy, which will be provided to all candidates selected to interview.
  • 7 or more years of relevant tax experience, preferably with a Big 4 CPA or large local firm
  • 3 or more years of experience within the insurance industry
  • 3 or more years of management or supervisory experience
  • Protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information and technology assets against unauthorized disclosure, destruction and/or alteration, in accordance with Safety National policies, standards, and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA designation a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Windows Office Suite
  • Experience with tax compliance and provision software
  • Familiarity with investment tax accounting and management software
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
