About The Position
This recruitment is open to current employees of the Business Taxes and Discovery/Sales section only. The Senior Tax Examiner will review and approve audits, perform audits, train staff on audit processes, explain audit assessments, appeal procedures, penalty and interest computations to taxpayers, represent the Business Taxes and Discovery Division in the appeals process, help with compliance projects, and interpret tax laws, rules and policies.
Requirements
- working knowledge of the Utah State Tax Commission policies and procedures
- working knowledge of Excel
- excellent customer service skills
- ability to communicate effectively
- must successfully pass a criminal history check
