About The Position

The Senior Tax Associate will support the tax planning and compliance functions for ultra-high-net-worth individuals and their families, with a focus on financial services clients such as hedge funds, private equity, and other investment-related individuals. This role will also assist in supporting the tax compliance needs of fund management companies, working alongside senior team members and client leadership, including CFOs. The Senior Tax Associate will work closely with Managers and Partners to deliver high-quality client service in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment that emphasizes technical excellence and responsiveness.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work in the office a minimum of 3 days per week.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college/university required.
  • Active CPA license or EA certification or in progress preferred.
  • 3+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting, with a focus on high-net-worth individuals, family offices, or private client services.
  • Strong technical expertise in individual, trust, estate, and gift taxation.
  • Working knowledge of foreign reporting requirements, including forms such as 926, 8865, 8938, 5471, 8621, 8886, and FBAR.
  • General understanding of pass-through entity taxation at both the individual and entity level.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite and tax research platforms (e.g., CCH, BNA, RIA).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Knowledge of ProSystems FX preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in providing tax planning and compliance services to high-net-worth clients.
  • Prepare complex tax returns, including individual (1040) and partnership filings.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients and internal teams to support ongoing engagements.
  • Prepare tax workpapers and conduct tax research related to high-net-worth individuals and related entities.
  • Develop an understanding of hedge fund K-1 reporting and its impact on individual taxation.
  • Assist with tax matters involving trusts, estates, gifts, and charitable entities.
  • Review work prepared by junior staff for accuracy and completeness (as appropriate).
  • Mentor and support junior team members, providing guidance and feedback.
  • Stay current on federal and state tax law developments and apply changes to client work.
