About The Position

Blue & Co., LLC is an accounting firm providing accounting and consulting services to growth-committed entrepreneurial clients. The firm is seeking a Senior Associate for its Detroit office. In this Tax Senior role, you will lead tax engagements and establish working relationships with clients, peers, and directors. You will develop supervisory and management skills through ongoing training and mentoring while working on a variety of challenging engagements. The ideal candidate is promotable, has an advisory mindset, and is interested in building a career in client service.

Requirements

• CPA certification, or eligibility for and active pursuit of certification.
• 3–6 years of relevant tax experience in a public accounting firm.
• Proven financial, analytical, technical, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent client service skills and a desire to build business development skills.
• Ability to oversee and manage engagements, prioritize engagements, and supervise and motivate staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel to client locations, mostly for day trips, with minimal overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and manage all aspects of tax engagements.
• Prepare business and individual tax returns.
• Perform field work, including preparing complex work papers and monitoring work paper preparation by Staff Accountants.
• Foster teamwork, innovative thinking, and knowledge sharing among team members to enhance service delivery.
• Train and mentor Staff Accountants.
• Continue learning and develop into a subject matter expert in areas of interest.
